GDG on Campus UNIZIK is a student developer community at Nnamdi Azikiwe University. This policy explains what information we collect when you use gdgnau.space, and how we use it.
What we collect
We only collect what we need to run our events:
- Account details: your name, email and password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email and profile picture from Google.
- Profile details you choose to add: phone number, department, level, matric number, bio, profile picture and links to GitHub, LinkedIn or a portfolio.
- Event activity: your teams, applications, project submissions and any files you upload.
- Basic technical data, like your browser type, which helps us keep the platform working and secure.
How we use it
- To create your account and let you sign in.
- To review applications and select teams for our events.
- To run events: forming teams, sharing resources, judging projects and announcing results.
- To email you about your account and the events you take part in, such as verification links, announcements and results.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who can see it
Your email, application and private team details are visible only to you, your teammates where relevant, and the GDG on Campus UNIZIK organisers who run the event. Judges' individual scores are visible to organisers and your team only.
When results are published, your team name and project name may appear publicly on the showcase. Selected teams and winning projects may also be featured on GDG on Campus UNIZIK channels.
We use trusted service providers to host the platform and send emails. They only process your information to provide those services to us.
How long we keep it
We keep your account while it is active. Event records such as applications, submissions and results are kept so we can show past events and showcase projects. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.
Your choices
You can view and update your profile from your dashboard at any time. You can also ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account. Some details, like published results, may stay on the showcase after deletion without your personal contact information.
Security
We protect your information with encrypted connections and limit who can access it. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and keep it private.

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. For any question or request about your information, contact the GDG on Campus UNIZIK organisers through our community channels or at any of our events.
